The Lutrina Clinic - a small and easily manageable hospital - is located near the city center of Kaiserslautern. The Clinic staff focus on the individual care and treatment of patients. We want to attend to and serve our patients. We always treat our patients according to the most recent medical knowledge and up-to-date medical standards. We wish to make our patients' stay in the hospital as short and as comfortable as possible.
We concentrate on a limited number of medical conditions. This allows us to diagnose, treat and operate a large number of patients with the same conditions, and thus to gain enormous and highly specialized expertise in these special areas. The Lutrina Clinic is a private hospital which is located in Rhineland-Palatinate (West of Germany) and managed by Dr. med. Wolfgang Franz and Dr. med. Gunther Burgard.
Our main specialties are knee surgery and sports medicine. Among other duties, our physicians take care of and treat the soccer team 1. FC Kaiserslautern.. In arthroscopic knee surgery, we focus on the following conditions: Meniscal lesions arthrosis, cartilage lesions (we offer debridement of cartilage and smoothing of roughened cartilage, cartilaginous transplantation and cultivation of cartilaginous cells) injuries to the cruciate ligament injuries to the knee cap and other knee injuries We also offer general and orthopedic surgery. We concentrate on hemorrhoid surgery (using a new, internationally recognized, minimally invasive technique) craw toe or hallux valgus/ -rigidus, and forefoot pathologies inguinal, umbilical, femoral and incisional hernias so-called athlete's groin a.k.a. indirect inguinal hernia varicose veins some hand pathologies such as the trigger finger, Dupuytren's contracture and carpal tunnel syndrome In addition, we treat other minor surgical emergencies and offer general but no major abdominal surgery
