The Lutrina Practice is located on the ground floor and the Lutrina Clinic is on the upper floor and accessible by elevator.
Below, we have described how to get there by car, bus, and train.
ARRIVAL BY CAR:
Arriving via the A6 and A63 motorways:
Take the KL-Centrum exit, then follow Mainzer Straße towards Stadtmitte/Centrum. After approx. 300 m, turn left into Europaallee (PRE-Park). Follow Europaallee for 350 m and turn left into Brüsseler Straße. The Lutrina Clinic and Practice are located at the end of the street on the left-hand side.
Arriving from Kaiserslautern city center:
Leave Kaiserslautern city center via Mainzer Straße toward the A6/A63/E50 motorway junction. Turn left onto Europaallee (PRE-Park). Follow Europaallee for 350 m and turn left onto Brüsseler Straße. The Lutrina Clinic and Practice are located at the end of the street on the left-hand side.
ARRIVING BY BUS AND TRAIN:
- From Kaiserslautern main station, take line 117 towards PRE-Park and get off at the Luxemburger Straße stop. It is a 1-minute walk to Medic Park / Lutrina Clinic and Practice.
- From the city center, take line 104 towards Monte Mare and get off at the Luxemburger Straße stop. It is a 1-minute walk to Medic Park / Lutrina Clinic and Practice.
- From the city center, take line 137 towards Sembach and get off at the PRE-Park stop. It is a 7-minute walk to Medic Park / Lutrina Clinic and Practice.
Patient information
Your visit at our practice
- Punctuality: Please arrive about 10 minutes before your appointment. This will give you enough time to register and prepare. However, arriving earlier will not result in an earlier appointment.
- Appointment cancellations: If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know in good time so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.
- Preparation: To reduce waiting times, please fill out the medical history form and the data protection agreement at home.
- Emergencies and acute symptoms: In case of acute problems or emergencies, please call us in advance to avoid unnecessary waiting times.
- Documents to bring: Remember to bring your health insurance card and, if applicable, a referral. If you already have previous findings such as X-rays, MRI/CT scans, surgical reports, or discharge reports, please bring these with you as well.
- Insurance: We offer treatments for patients with public and private insurance as well as self-pay patients.
Preperation for surgery
- Medications: Bring any medications you take regularly (home medications) with you to the surgery.
- Allergies and intolerances: Please inform us in good time of any known allergies and intolerances. If you have an allergy card, please bring it with you.
- Medication break: Stop taking medications such as blood thinners and antidiabetics in good time as previously agreed. Please do not take any aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) for one week before the date of your surgery.
- Illnesses before surgery: Please contact us in good time if you have a fever, an infection, especially in the area to be operated on, or allergic reactions.
- Clothing and toiletries: Bring comfortable and functional clothing as well as your personal toiletries. For hygienic and environmental reasons, we do not provide towels or toiletries.
- Orthopedic aids: If you require orthopedic aids such as crutches or orthoses and already have a prescription for them, please bring them with you when you are admitted to the hospital.
The day of your surgery
- Registration: Please report at the specified time either to the Lutrina Clinic ward (if you are an inpatient) or to the outpatient surgery center on the 1st floor.
- Food intake: A light meal is permitted up to 6 hours before the procedure. You may drink water or unsweetened tea in small sips up to 2 hours before the operation.
- After the operation: After the procedure, you will be monitored in our recovery room as a matter of routine. You will then either be transferred to the ward or discharged to an outpatient setting. We will hand you over to the person you have arranged to pick you up.
- Postoperative visit: Depending on the time of the operation, the first visit will take place either on the same day or the next morning. We will inform you about the course of the operation and further aftercare in a personal consultation.
- Aftercare: Depending on the procedure, cooling measures will be initiated and, if necessary, mobilization or a physiotherapy exercise program will be started.
- Outpatient procedures: For outpatient surgeries, you will receive a brief report and a follow-up treatment plan upon discharge. Appointments for follow-up checks, dressing changes, and necessary prescriptions will also be arranged with you.
Inpatient stay and discharge
- Daily rounds: The surgeon or his medical representative will conduct daily rounds to monitor your healing process and answer any questions you may have.
- Meals: In addition to three main meals, beverages such as mineral water, tea, coffee, and juices are available.
- Discharge day: Discharge takes place on the day of discharge between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Please plan your pick-up accordingly.
- Discharge documents: Upon discharge, you will receive important documents, including the (preliminary) treatment report, a physiotherapy follow-up plan, appointments for scheduled follow-up checks, and any necessary prescriptions.
- Aftercare: If unexpected complications arise after discharge or the healing process does not proceed as planned, please do not hesitate to contact us immediately. We are available as your first point of contact.
